Spring Outfit Inspiration – The Updated Cargo
March 17th, 2010 § 2 Comments
Today’s outfit inspiration comes from the March 2010 J.Crew catalog.
The cargo pant is updated for Spring with a slimmer cut. It’s a little rough, a little urban, and a lot sexy.
I love the way it is styled as well. The ruffle wrap blouse and statement necklace adds a romantic, girly touch to the ensemble. Last but certainly not least, the suede platform peep toes in the nudish-pinkish color are the perfect finish to the outfit.
The details:
The outfit can be purchased here.
BLAKELY WRAP BLOUSE, $98
RIPSTOP CARGO PANT, $79.50
ALICIA SUEDE PLATFORM PEEP TOES, $265
The model, Molly, who is also a designer for j.crew handmade the necklace
I thought that it was super cool that the March catalog featured real women who inspire with their creativity and style.

Lace and Florals
March 14th, 2010 § 1 Comment
From season to season, there are so many trends out there to choose from. Trends come and go, so I try to choose 1 or 2 to “freshen” up my current wardrobe. You want to build a wardrobe that you can wear year after year, so this means no head-to-toe dressing in trends only- not only will you avoid being a fashion victim, but your pocketbook will also thank you for this. This does not mean boring, it just means well-edited.
A spring trend that I am excited about is lace and soft florals. I’m even more excited that this look can follow you from season to season with a few adjustments. This is not the prim and proper grandma lace either. Rather, it is a more relaxed, bohemian look where the delicate, billowy lace top is contrasted by pairing with faded denim, and a neutral wedge – another hot spring trend.
There are millions of experts out there reporting on the latest trends in fashion and beauty, but I am here to weed through them and pick the best for you, dear readers. Check out this video by Louise Roe, guest editor on Piperlime, that shows you how to incorporate this spring trend in your wardrobe. She has also listed her picks from Piperlime- just follow the video link above.
I love all of Louise Roe’s picks. Many of the blousy floral and lace tops, like the ones below, can double as a beach cover-up.
I was browsing the internet and found this lovely top at Urban Outfitters. It is actually a dress, but I think it would look lovely as a top paired with distressed jeans (bell bottom or cropped) and wedges or thong sandals.
Again , don’t forget to check out this video as it demonstrates this trend to perfection. Would love to see your interpretation of this and other spring trends.

spring look of the day- Floral
February 26th, 2010 § Leave a Comment
It makes me so happy to think that Spring is just around the corner. Florals are back for spring- think abstract, geometric, and mixed floral prints.
Pair with a boyfriend blazer for an office appropriate look.

Keep up with the Kardashians
February 19th, 2010 § 1 Comment
Check out the hot new ”body con” collection at bebe inspired by the Kardashians.
I’m loving the asymmetrical pieces, structured bold shoulder looks, and the unexpected details, like the leather contouring in the first dress pictured below.
Here are a few of my favorites (check out the entire collection here).
BTW- great inspiration and looks for a night on the town or your next cocktail par-tay
Spotted this one on Giuliana Rancic on ENews the other night
This one is my favorite! Not only do I love the bold shoulder, but I am also loving the one shoulder look and structured pleating. It’s all about those little details. BTW- the bold shoulder is still hot for Spring!
Nothing wrong with a pop of color to remind us that Spring is just around the corner! Going on a Spring Break vacay to somewhere warm? Pack this!

Many of the dresses of this hot collection are already sold out online. Be sure to check out local stores for availability. There will be a second edition debuting online and in stores this April.
Have a great weekend!

Some of the best inspiration comes straight from the street! Enjoy y’all!

love this color combo: dusty pink rose, grey, and brown. OOOH and peep the polka dot tights! TRES CHIC!! via stylesightings
Leaving you with this funny tidbit unrelated to fashion but still funny, nonetheless. My sister and I were in the mall parking lot yesterday and with temps in the 60s she snaps, “Lis, it’s freezing out here, hurry up!!”. COLD weather is all relative, huh?!?!?!?!

Outfit Inspiration- Metallics
December 4th, 2009 § 1 Comment
Metallics are a must for the season. Take inspiration from Lauren Conrad for a simple way to introduce metallics into your wardrobe. I like how she paired the jacket with a simple mini dress and statement heels. It’s on trend but not too trendy….I am drawn to effortless style.
Does this inspire you to get your SHINE ON?!?!??!
AND last but not least, a special thanks to Parc Boutique for showing My Inner Fashionlogue some blog love!

I can definitely relate to that…I live and love that.
And this is why I was especially drawn to this wardrobe street chic spread on elle.com featuring Amerie’s personal style.

Sunny Skies Ahead

If sun and sand are part of your holiday forecast, then feast on this!
This post is inspired by a friend who is heading to South Beach for a girlfriends getaway. JEALOUS!
What I love is that most pieces featured in the sets below can be used throughout fall/winter. For example, take the metallic dress in the last set…just pair with leggings or tights and add a jacket or faux fur vest for a “winterized” look!
I created the 4 sets below on polyvore.com…..scroll, click on the set for info on where to buy, and ENJOY!!
This one is my fav! Love the interest the fringe detail adds to the ensemble!

BOOTIE-LICIOUS!
November 20th, 2009 § 7 Comments
I think I just fell in love all over again. Ok, not really…I just have one main squeeze, but I occasionally dabble in side love affairs with shiny, new shoes, clothes, and accessories to keep it new and exciting. Don’t you go through phases with that “fav” food, song, or perhaps that boot of the moment? And you just keep going back for more until, well, you just can’t anymore. I find that one item that moves me and wear it like it’s going out of style. Is it just me? I know I am not alone here.
Right now I am playing out Chipotle Steak Tacos (don’t judge!), Rihanna’s Run This Town (“Feel it coming in the air hear the screams from everywhere……heeeeeeeeey heeeeeeay heeeeeeeeey heeeeeeay”), and my Steve Madden Cuddless Booties (I have come to terms with reality and accepted that this is as close to bootylicious as I’ll ever get).
You’ve probably guessed my current obsession or love affair, if you will, are BOOTIES! My weekend uniform for the past year consists of booties with black leggings, long tunic or casual frock, scarf, and cardigan. I have also paired them with leggings, jeans, pencil skirt, bandage skirt, tulip skirt, ankle pant, cocktail dress….I wear them all the time!
My advice is simple- find a pair that you love and experiment with different ensembles, casual to dressy, whatever makes your heart flutter. Personalize it. Have fun with it. I rounded up loads of inspiration, bohemian to glam, to help rev your creativity.
This makes me tick. I just can’t get enough. Eyes Wide. Happy. Excited. Makes me wanna dance.
This post is rather long so I will be posting in smaller installments. Today, we begin our bootie-licious journey with classics with a bit of a twist. But stay tuned, because there is still LOTS more to come. Next up- rockin frocks, shiny metallic frocks, Rock-chic looks, and last but not least, a splash of COLOR.
Prepare for sensory overload. One time for your mind!
CASUAL. COOL. LAID-BACK LUXE. CLASSIC WITH AN EDGY TWIST.
