what i wore – fun fall day at the apple orchard

November 21st, 2011 § 3 Comments

If you live in the Twin Cities, the Minnetonka Apple Orchard is a family fall must do! We decided to make it a fall tradition starting this year. We went  a few weeks ago and had a great time! After visiting the petting zoo, going through the corn maze and eating lunch, we were too tired to pick apples, but luckily they have a store where you can buy all kinds of apple goodies.

Miles is wearing a gap hat, gap jean jacket, h&m cardigan, h&m striped long sleeve shirt, h&m courdoroys, jack purcell converse, and crewcuts shoelaces.

fancy features and contributions….

September 7th, 2011 § 1 Comment

I just started contributing on my friend Jessica’s blog Live the Fancy Life on posts that are mommy, baby, and maternity related, so for me that will most often mean fashion related posts on these topics. It is the perfect outlet for all things baby that has invaded my brain since I started preparing for Miles’ birth. And with another one on the way, it does not look like it will let up anytime soon. Check out my first post on fancy little feet!!  Also, you must check out the site if you have not already….It contains all the ingredients to live the fancy life – creative, inspired party decor, fancy food recipes, home decor ideas, and lots more!!

Lastly, my little Miles’ just turned 1 and his superhero birthday party was recently featured on Live the Fancy Life!! I feel fancy!!

back to school with crewcuts

September 6th, 2011 § 1 Comment

Even though Miles is just starting to fit into Crewcuts smallest size (size 2), it has been a source of fashion inspiration from the day he was born. I love the preppy meets urban laid-back styling. I now mostly shop only from the sale section, but it is getting more and more difficult to resist it all.

Here are a few of my favorite back to school looks…..

Have a great day everybody!

kicks for your urban baby

June 24th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

I’ve been having a blast dressing baby Miles. There is so much more room to be adventurous. Patterns, colors, and styles that would  normally be too “loud” on grown-ups look totally appropriate, stylish, and fun on baby.

I scored these rad graffiti style converse kicks  at a Converse outlet in Orlando and they’ve quickly become a favorite.

what i wore – brunch with friends

This is a new feature that will be open to all- women, men, and children!
I promise to not only feature baby Miles :-)
Because I do get lots of questions on where to find “cool” baby clothing, I have decided to include children. I shop online a lot but have found great stuff at commercial retailers like Target, The Childrens Place, and Baby Gap.

Who: Milesy
Where: On my way to brunch at Loring Kitchen
Wear:
Gerber long sleeve onesie, Target
Bob’s Genuine Motor Oil Collared Shirt, Genuine Kids Brand Target
H&M Baby Pants
Minnetonka moccasins purchased at Pacifier

Hope you find this helpful. Let me know!
And if you want to be featured or have a little one you would like to feature, please do send pictures!

new feature – a very fashionable baby

aden + anais mela bamboo swaddles

Ok, so I’ve had babies on the brain for quite sometime now and it does not look like it will let up anytime soon. I just wanna buy that little guy everything! And I’ve admittedly been known to go overboard at times. UGGS and Vans are necessities, right?

This is a new feature that spotlights a few of my (and Miles) favorite things and the stores where you can find them. I apologize in advance- none of the featured stores sell any I love mommy or daddy clothing :-)

The first feature is on a store called aden + anais. I love this store for their muslin swaddles, and a piece of advice for expectant and new mommies, you can never own too many swaddles. I do not own any other brand of swaddles. I love these swaddles for their durability and extra-large size but mostly because of the hip designs that do not scream BABY.

I own the mela bamboo swaddles pictured above but have been eyeing these diwali bamboo swaddles for a while now. Ok- I am ordering them as I finish this post.

Aden + Anais also has a Target line, which I have tried and can say they are equally durable and great for everyday use.
